Google - Prime Minister’s School Flag Debate

Google - Prime Minister’s School Flag Debate

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Partnering with Google

Google NZ, the NZ Prime Ministers office, and Sydney ad agency Grumpy Sailor had planned a campaign to use the streaming platform Google Hangout for the PM to directly engage with Secondary Schools across NZ. The topic – the NZ Flag referendum. The plan was good – but a lot had to be done to complete a seamless production, multiple remote feeds, and an online delivery successfully.

From the Auckland hub venue in the Google Auckland office, Slipstream provided production and delivery of a HD video and audio of the PM, with broadcast quality audio and lighting solution befitting the occasion. Three schools (Auckland, Wellington and CHCH)  video linked to the hub, asking the PM questions in real time, while a further 150 schools viewed the stream in real time.
